Over the years, the cost of trash collection has increased substantially and now exceeds the hotel bed tax revenues. When the Maumee Bay Lodge opened and began paying the 3% lodging tax to Jerusalem Township, the Trustees at that time decided to use the hotel tax revenues to provide free trash collection for our residents. (Both meetings will cover the same information so it is only necessary to attend one)Īlthough most communities charge their residents for the cost of trash collection, for many years Jerusalem Township has paid all of the costs of trash collection for its residents.
